I want to love what You love.

So I asked someone I work with if they had heard that the new health care bill would basically mean that our taxes would be financially supporting abortion and she said

"Oh man. Bummer".

Why is this not more important to the people of God?

I want to say, "Don't you get it??? Your money will be blood money!"

Oh God, why don't we care about what's on Your heart? Why doesn't injustice make us weep? Why do we sit in complacency, watching the innocent suffer? The minimum that You have asked of us is that we love as You love. That we would agree with You. That we would pray. That we would be Your watchmen. You are not asking a great thing of us!

And yet we say, "That's too intense. I don't think God would want me to give up my life, my comfort, to pray". We sacrifice millions for the sake of our own comfort.

Jesus said that he who lays down his life will find it. But he who seeks to save his own life will lose it anyway.

I want to lay down my life....

Oh God, blaze upon my heart. Let me truly truly burn for what You burn for. It is not too high a price to agree with You. It is not too high a price to waste my life in intercession for the oppressed.

Oh God, awaken our hearts.

I don't want to be too intense.... but I don't think I am.

Wake up. Don't let this pass over your heart. Do not choose to be unaffected. For the sake of 50 million unborn children.... let your heart break, just a little bit.

It's what He spends His time doing. He is our high priest. Intercession is His job. I want to be like You, Jesus. I want to do what You're doing.

  1. But couldn't the argument be made that our tax money is already blood money? Look at the innocent lives who has died over in Iraq in Afghanistan for a war that has yet to be 100 percent justified.

If the only reason to be against universal health care is because of the money paying for abortions, what about the children who die because of lack of health care? Are their lives worth losing because our money did not pay for someone's abortion?

Personally, I am in the middle of the road on this issue, but I always think of this: the only reason why we need universal health care is because we, the church, is not doing our job.

  2. wes. I am not neccessarily against universal healthcare. I just don't want MY money supporting murder.

  3. then again, I am against universal healthcare... just one step closer to socialism in a world that is becoming increasingly anti-Jesus.
