I want to be like You, Jesus.

I have been thinking a lot about humility lately. The more I discover about the character of Jesus, the more amazed I am. He was the Word, before the world. He was the word that created the world. He is the very image of the Uncreated One. And yet, it was the Father's will (Isaiah 53) to make him the offering for my unrighteousness. Jesus, Son of the Most High, the very Word of the Infinite One, became a servant. Put on flesh.

But what amazes me is that He did not come in flesh as a King..... He came and walked before men in meekness and humility.

He did not come and demand His own way. He did not come and demand worship, though He deserved all praise. He loved without expectation. He became the Servant of All. Not only did He lay down his life in death on the cross. He laid it down every day of His life on this earth.

The humble servant. Glorious One.

Let this be formed in me, I pray.
