God remembers.

Today I was feeling nostalgic and went back through my old blog and my old journal. It's a funny feeling to go back and read those. Sometimes I just think, Wow... I was so silly. But there are some pieces that make my heart remember how faithful the Lord is to work His purposes in me.

I have so many journal entries from junior high, high school, and college that say something very similar. "God I just want to love you whatever it takes." Not that I knew what that really meant most of the time... but I still prayed it over and over.

And I know that I forgot many times along the way that I said yes to Him. I turned myself 180* around and ran the other direction. I fell and fought so often. Still do....

But God remembered the yes I said to Him. He still remembers the vows I made to Him..... He is so faithful to accomplish His purposes. I am absolutely undone by this thought today. Undone by the knowledge that none of this is my good works. All I did was say yes... and such a very very weak yes....

His strength is made perfect in weakness.

What amazing love. What amazing grace. Words can't express the impact this has had on my heart today.

It's like the love of God just can't let go of me. Once I said yes to Him, it grabbed hold of my heart and will not let go.

Love compels me.

Be encouraged today, dear friends. I am sure we have all prayed a similar prayer over and over in our lives, "God I want You".... because the deep in us always calls out to the deep in Him. We long to say yes to Him.
So if you find yourself barely holding on, not knowing if He even likes you, let alone is pleased with you.... or like He might not remember that you ever said yes, too much water under the bridge........ or uncertain that He will really be faithful to Your heart.... know that it's true... He remembers, He longs to pull you near...
say yes again....

Philippians 1:6

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

God remembers.
